Unknown reasons have reportedly delayed the official Android O rollout

According to a new piece of information that is floating around, Android O will get delayed due to unknown reasons, which most likely involve a ton of ironing out bugs and issues. Coming straight from Android Police’s David Ruddock, this unconfirmed new rumor basically implies that we wouldn’t see Android O get officially seeded to Pixel devices in mid-August, possibly this or next week, which was the public’s general expectation.
So, when is Android O bound to become official?
A tough question. With zero insider information …

Alcatel Idol 4 Pro with Windows 10 gets delayed once again

The Alcatel Idol 4 Pro saga is not yet over, at least not in the UK where the Windows 10 smartphone should have been already available for purchase.

Although Microsoft and Alcatel promised to bring the device in the UK in the last week of July, the Idol 4 Pro’s market release was postponed by two weeks.

Well, it looks like the day of August 7 is about to end and Alcatel Idol 4 Pro isn’t yet available for purchase in the UK. In fact, Microsoft delayed the release of the smartphone once again, so those who still want the Windows 10 handset will have to wait …

Pokemon GO events across Europe delayed following Chicago Fest fiasco

Following Pokemon GO Chicago Fest debacle, Niantic announced that four out of the seven live events planned for this summer across Europe had been pushed into fall. The US-based company confirmed earlier this month that seven European cities would host Pokemon GO safari zone events starting August.

Unfortunately, if you’ve already purchased tickets for any of the first four, then you’ll have to wait for Niantic to announce when they will take place since they have been postponed until a date late in the fall.

Initially, these events were scheduled for August …

The iPhone 8 could be delayed by more than three weeks, Bank of America analysts say

If you’ve been paying attention for the past few months, you may have noticed that 2017 isn’t the best year if you’re a phone maker trying to switch things up. Take Samsung, for example: it’s been wildly publicized that the company intended to put an in-glass fingerprint scanner inside its upcoming Galaxy Note 8, but issues with speed and security ultimately killed those plans.

But Sammy’s not the only kid on the block looking to get rid of the separate fingerprint scanner: Apple has been rumored for a while to be implementing an in-screen Touch ID for …

Nokia 5 and 6 market release delayed until August in the UK

Having a world-renowned brand to back up your products before they get released on the market can have its pros and cons. HMD Global is one of the companies that benefited from massive media exposure in the last couple of months due to the launch of its new Nokia smartphones.

Unfortunately, that kind of publicity can put a start-up like HMD in an awkward position, as many retailers and carriers report huge interest from customers for the new Nokia smartphones. As such, HMD is having troubles meeting the high demand for its devices even before they were actually …

Long delayed YotaPhone 3 is announced; dual-screen phone to start at $350

Back in April, we told you to expect the YotaPhone 3 to be available for pre-orders this summer. Today, the phone was officially unveiled in North China. For those unfamiliar with the YotaPhone series, these devices have a dual-screen design thanks to the E Ink display found on the back of each handset. The YotaPhone 3 will sport an AMOLED panel in front. The handset was expected to launch last year, but some problems with the company’s finances delayed the release.

It is unknown whether or not a U.S. release of the YotaPhone 3 will be in the cards. Back in 2015, the YotaPhone 2 was listed …

Apple iPhone 8 release date may not be delayed after all, Apple sends blackout days for staff

The Apple iPhone 8 release date could happen somewhere between September 17th and November 4th. This is the logical conclusion to make after Apple has allegedly posted blackout dates for staff, suggesting that this would be a busy period when it will need all hands on deck. The information comes from what looks like an official Apple memo to staff, obtained by Apple enthusiast Benjamin Geskin.
“Keep in mind that these dates are subject to change as our support volume expectations fluctuate,” the memo says.

Apple staff black …

BlackBerry KEYone delayed in Europe by a few weeks

UK retailer Clove announced at the beginning of the month that the first stock of BlackBerry KEYone units would arrive in early May. Fast forward three weeks and it looks like the shipments have been delayed.

Instead of May 5, the first stock is now expected to arrive in the week commencing May 22. The price remains unchanged though, so customers will still be able to buy one for £499 outright.

However, it looks like Carphone Warehouse, another major UK retailer, will have the BlackBerry KEYone available starting May 5. Perhaps the reseller did not yet …

Fitbit smartwatch delayed to autumn, design is "definitely not sexy"

Fitbit has been manufacturing activity-tracking gadgets for ten years now, providing a range of equipment to monitor your fitness regime, sleep and more. After the takeover of two smartwatch making companies and its own CEO confirming it, Fitbit is on track of releasing a real smartwatch this year. We say ‘real’, because the company already sells a form of a smart wrist device, the Fitbit Blaze, but it is rather perceived as fitness tracker that can receive texts and calls.

The launch of the device was rumoured to be some time this spring, but recent reports from Yahoo Finance sources state …

Bixby launch reportedly delayed due to English-related voice recognition issues

As you may have already heard, Bixby — Samsung’s highly touted AI assistant — won’t be gracing the Galaxy S8/S8+ at launch. Not in its final form, at least, and not in the U.S. The full-fledged version of Bixby will supposedly launch “later this spring,” according to a brief official statement by Samsung.

According to a new report by the Wall Street Journal, citing an anonymous source familiar with the matter, the English-speaking version of Bixby won’t be available at launch, due to its performance not being up to par with its Korean-savvy counterpart.

Internal …
