Apple's South Korean offices are raided the day before the iPhone X launches in the country

A few days ago, we told you that the Apple iPhone X did very well in South Korea by selling out during the pre-order period that ended today in the country. That means that starting Friday, the tenth anniversary iPhone model can be purchased in LG and Samsung’s own backyard. Last week, it took Korean carrier SK Telecom just 3 minutes to sell out its pre-order inventory of the iPhone X. Last year, it took 20 minutes for SK Telecom to sell out its pre-order inventory of the Apple iPhone 7 and Apple iPhone 7 Plus.

On Thursday, the day before the launch of the iPhone X in South Korea, officials …

Another day, another Google Pixel 2 problem: Many users can't unlock their bootloaders

It seems that yet another new issue is her to mar the quality control regarding Google’s newest Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL stock Android champs.

It would seem that a number of Google Pixel 2 units purchased straight from the Play Store and not some shady reseller are arriving with bootloaders that can’t be unlocked. As you might imagine, the issue first popped up on XDA’s developer-centric forums, where multiple users bemoaned that they are unable to unlock the bootlaoders of their new devices though they are supposed to be able to do that by default, …

Mexico City's Day of the Dead Parade featured tributes to earthquake victims and rescue workers

TwitterFacebook

Mexico city, still grieving the nearly 500 victims of two powerful earthquakes that devastated the country in September, hosted its annual Day of the Dead parade on Saturday. Nearly 300,000 were in attendance.

The 4-mile parade route was led by a group of rescue workers and volunteers, and featured an impressive raised fist float made out of hard hats and rescue tools.

“The point of this parade is to celebrate life,” Alejandra González Anaya, the parade’s artistic director, told the New York Times.

The Day of the Dead, or Día de los Muertos, is a centuries-old Mexican celebration honoring the lives of the deceased. Mexico City’s large parade is in its second year, after taking inspiration for the large scale event from the 2015 James Bond film SpectreRead more…

Apple co-founder Wozniak will not buy the iPhone X on launch day

We’ve seen Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak with other phones besides the iPhone, and the straight shooting tech icon has often been brutally honest even if it meant saying something unkind about the company he helped create. While the Woz is known for hanging out in an Apple Store whenever a new iPhone model launches, yesterday he said that he plans on sitting out the launch of the Apple iPhone X on November 3rd.

Wozniak said that he is happy with his Apple iPhone 8. And while that might sound like a complement to the new model, the 67-year old added that as far as he is concerned, the iPhone …

Google to revise system that forces news providers to offer three free stories a day before charging

Google plans on removing a policy that requires news organizations to offer consumers three free stories a day before readers are forced to subscribe to the service. Instead, news providers will be allowed to determine for themselves how many articles readers will be allowed to read for free. Robert Thomson, chief executive of News Corp., started squealing last month about Google’s plans to eliminate the “first click free” policy.

Thomson pointed out that Google had these news providers by the short hairs. If they didn’t get on board with the “first click free” policy, they would disappear …

Bear chills out on garbage dump's couch after a long day

TwitterFacebook

Bears don’t have any interest in your miserable standing desks, thank you very much.

Mandy Stantic was visiting a garbage dump in Northern Manitoba last spring when she came upon a black bear sitting on a discarded sofa. Stantic, whose photos just recently went viral, had specifically driven to the dump with her daughter to see the dump (god bless Canadian road trips) when she discovered the bear just lounging.

“The bears are always very active at the dump. This one must have been in the mood to relax after eating his full and climbed up on the couch to get comfortable,” Stantic told MashableRead more…

Apple iPhone 8 launch day: Still no shortage of long lines

Ten years of iPhone releases hasn’t slowed down the gravitational force that continues to be felt on launch day for Apple’s prized smartphone. It’s unbelievable to tell you the truth, seeing that you’d think that the allure and prestige would’ve fizzled down quite a bit over the years, but it hasn’t. Even as we visited Apple’s flagship store on 5th Avenue in New York City, there was no indication of the magic dwindling away – even well into the afternoon, which is an indicator of consumer interest.
So yeah, Apple took a slightly different …

Spigen's cases are ready to protect your Galaxy Note 8 from day 1

Disclaimer

The Galaxy Note 8 is out and it is as beautiful as it is big and slippery. Yup, let’s say it outright, a glass sandwich looks awe-inspiring, but is prone to slip from careless hands, especially when the device is as tall as the Note 8 is. And, with it’s price-tag, that’d be one expensive slip!

Of course, you’d be considering protection. If you have a less …
