Samsung Australia reveals "Screen Assure" free Galaxy Note 8 screen repair; launch date August 25th?

So far, there has been some question about the Samsung Galaxy Note 8’s model number. For the most part, we have seen SM-N950 used to designate the unlocked version of the phablet. And while it really isn’t a major deal in the scheme of things, an inadvertent leak by Samsung Australia indicates that the model number of Sammy’s next high-end handset is actually SM-N940. That is the model number listed on the Samsung Australia website, which published information about a free screen repair for Note 8 users who break the display.

The “Screen Assure” promotion is being offered by Samsung Australia …

Android O release date: Here's when it might be hitting the popular Android devices

By now, it’s public knowledge that Android O is coming to a device near you soon.
If our past experience is anything to go by, only a minuscule amount of Android users will be getting the newest taste of Android on day 1 of public availability. Pixel users are a getting it first, no doubt about that, but who’s next? Remains to be seen.
But what’s the fuss all about? Is Android O such an important update to the OS at all? For the most part, it’s about to introduce lots of under-the-hood improvements for the OS, as well as overhaul …

Essential Phone release date, price, and availability: all we know so far

It was May 30 when the Essential Phone was officially announced. Its unveiling was a big deal – not only because we rarely see a new company entering the smartphone market, and not only because the phone itself was looking top notch, with premium, modern design, high-end hardware specs, and clean Android software to top it all off. The excitement around the young company and its first mobile product was also fueled by the fact that Andy Rubin, often referred to as the “father” of Android, is the man in charge of Essential. In other words, this phone had to be good if it …

Samsung Galaxy S8 Active price and release date predictions

We’ve already talked about the Galaxy S8 Active, a rumored and anticipated handset that’s most definitely coming pretty soon. As the name suggests, the Galaxy S8 Active will be a rugged, more durable variation of the flashy Galaxy S8. We largely expect it to drop the glass at the rear for a more rugged material that wouldn’t break if you accidentally drop the phone on a hard surface. Furthermore, the curved display at the front of the Galaxy S8, albeit neat and cool, will be substituted for a flat variation that won’t be as susceptible to breakage due to accidental drops. A …

LG V30 price and release date: Here's everything we know so far

With the hype surrounding the almost bezel-less G6 abating, LG is gearing up to launch its second flagship for the year – the LG V30. In keeping with V-series traditions of years past, the V30 is expected to be powered by a top-of-the-line processor, to cater to audiophiles with a high-end DAC built in, and to continue and evolve the ticker screen concept that started with the V10 in 2015.

But this time around, the LG V30 may be poised to hit the market earlier than its predecessors. LG has already teased us that it has a something V-series-related to announce on …

Samsung Galaxy Note 8: price and release date predictions

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8 is one of the most anticipated devices of the year for sure. On one hand, the Note family is usually considered as the most powerful Sammy devices of the year, filled to the brim with the latest hardware and features. On the other, since the Note 7 was such a spectacular failure, everyone is hoping that the 8 will be awesome enough to rectify the faults and forever remove that burn mark from Sammy’s reputation.

And yeah, we are getting impatient, we want it here, we want it now, and we’d love to know how much it will cost, so that we can …

Rogue insider leaks Samsung Bixby Voice launch date on Reddit

With the launch of the Galaxy S8, Samsung introduced its own (new) voice assistant — Bixby. And the company seemed to be putting a lot of eggs in the Bixby basket — not only did it say that the AI will one day grow up to be an irreplaceable part of the users’ Samsung experience, it even outfitted the Galaxy S8 and S8+ with a hardware button solely dedicated to the assistant, as if to back up the claims.

But, thus far, US users have been unable to interact with one of Bixby’s most important features as a smart assistant — its voice recognition is still offline. According to some unnamed sources, …

Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2: price and release date predictions

2017 is shaping up to be one of the more exciting years in the smartphone world in recent past — while 2016 was all about iterating on existing designs (see: the Galaxy S7, iPhone 7, HTC 10), what we’re seeing right now is a trend of companies showing off their wilder side: Both Samsung and LG are going hard on the tall, nearly bezel-less look, which Apple will be combining with a display cutout, while HTC is going the weird route with its squeezable frames.

And then there’s Google, which seems to be following the trends as well, but in its own, …
