Miley Cyrus performs a grown-up cover of her Disney hit, 'See You Again'

TwitterFacebook

A lot’s happened since Miley Cyrus released her 2007 bubblegum pop single “See You Again” off the album tied to her Disney Channel series, Hannah Montana.

And though the last 10 years have included a series of highs (“Party in the U.S.A.”, a true banger) and lows (shameless cultural appropriation, a true disappointment), Cyrus seems to be settling back into her country roots as of late. Her BBC Live Lounge cover of “See You Again” shows just that — a decidedly grown-up, country-tinged spin on one of the songs that put her on the map in the first place.

The verdict: We’re into it. Read more…

LG V30 back cover poses for the camera on Note 8 announcement day

Only a few days separate us from the official premiere of LG’s high-end phablet – the V30. As usual, more and more information has leaked out as the August 31 announcement date draws closer, and today, some pretty intriguing images emerged online.

Reliable tipster Roland Quandt shared a quartet of photos showing the rear cover of the V30, merely a few hours before the unveiling of one of its chief big-screen rivals – the Samsung Galaxy Note 8:

Quandt’s best guess is that the color of the back plate is the silvery Ice Platinum, but it’s also …

Document seems to reveal a Microsoft built Touch Cover for the Apple iPad

Microsoft debuted the Surface Touch Cover in 2012. A combination cover/QWERTY, the accessory protected the tablet while at the same time it provided a flat, formless keyboard to help users type faster on the Surface tablet. But a flat typing surface was not good enough for most, so Microsoft came up with the Surface Type Cover. The Type Cover comes with buttons and keys making it more of a legitimate QWERTY keyboard for Surface users. And yes, it can double as a cover.

Microsoft now produces only the Type Cover for Surface users, but it doesn’t appear that the Touch Cover is going away. …

ESPN's 9th annual 'Body issue' cover was shot on Apple iPhone 7 Plus

ESPN magazine’s annual ‘Body issue’ shows how certain athletes look unclothed. Poses are struck that cover certain areas of the body that are usually not seen in this publication. Ten different athletes posed for nine separate covers. At least one of the covers was photographed using the camera on the Apple iPhone 7 Plus. The cover that showed Chicago Cubs’ second baseman Javier Baez featured an ad from Apple on the back. It showed the same exact photo of Baez used on the cover, but displayed on the handset without the ESPN graphics. The tag line reads, “Cover shot on iPhone 7 Plus.”

This giant Macbook-shaped roof will cover Apple’s new glass box store in Chicago

The construction of the new Apple store by the riverfront in Chicago has been underway for some time now. Designed by London firm Foster+Partners, the new store is nothing short of an innovative architectural decision. The store’s shape and looks remind of a Macbook, due to the metallic roof and the lid-shaped profile; but a large white Apple logo that construction workers rolled on top of the roof yesterday, erased any doubt of whether the finished building will resemble an Apple laptop.

Apple is moving its store from 679 N. Michigan Ave. to its new location that stretches from Pioneer …

Harry Styles slays with his surprise cover of Kanye's 'Ultralight Beam'

TwitterFacebook

Harry Styles likes The Life of Pablo, apparently.

The One Direction heartthrob-turned-solo star celebrated his first album on Saturday with an intimate London performance. Among the new material Styles let loose with was an unexpected cover: “Ultralight Beam,” off of Kanye West’s latest album.

The gospel-flavored original features West with The-Dream, Kelly Price, Kirk Franklin, and Chance the Rapper. Styles’ cover replaces the choir with the mournful wail of a reverb-heavy guitar, and it’s a perfect complement to the singer’s alt-rock flavor. Read more…
