Alleged Galaxy S9 components smile for the camera: there's a spot for a headphone jack

It’s a bit comical that the presence of a headphone jack would be such a hot topic in this modern day and age. It has been around since the 1950s and installed on pretty much any portable audio device since the original Walkman. Yet, in 2016, Apple pushed for a revolution — it made the “courageous” step of removing the 3.5 mm jack from the iPhone 7, stating that it’s old tech and the phone is better off without it.

Now, we know that there were a few smartphones that tried to do away with the jack before, but they were largely unnoticed and forgotten. When Apple made the move, it opened the …

Tim Cook photographed with the Apple iPhone 8 in his pocket?; iPhone 8, iPhone 7s components leak

A tweet sent by Apple CEO Tim Cook late last week shows the outline of what could be the Apple iPhone 8 in the executive’s right pants pocket. Cook was Cincinnati to visit  CTS. This company is Cupertino’s long time partner when it comes to manufacturing test equipment. Where Cook was is not the story here, obviously. That’s not a small feat to achieve even for companies the rank of Foxconn, and, this year, there will be a never-before-attempted shot at iPhone greatness with an alleged OLED iPhone 8 in the wings.

Nikkei’s Asian Review is reporting that suppliers are scrambling to fit a variety of parts in the desired production schedule, and these range from …
