Bloomberg: Several tech firms looking at producing AR glasses met with suppliers at CES 2018

Even though Google Glass struck out as a major consumer product, many analysts and tech company executives believe that AR glasses will be the next hot device to capture the public’s attention. Some even believe that the connected headset will become bigger than the smartphone, a pronouncement that seems hard to imagine right now. But as major tech companies begin to map out their future plans for AR glasses, several met with suppliers at CES in Las Vegas this past week according to Bloomberg.

The report says that Apple, Facebook and Google met with representatives of companies that build …

Samsung brought both infolding and outfolding prototypes, but will likely retail the infolding type, …

Granted, Sony has already revealed three new devices, so we shouldn’t really collectively hold our breaths for another device.

A tweet from HTC that was disseminated on Friday, hints that a new version of the HTC Vive VR headset is due to be unveiled this coming Monday. The tweet says “New Year’s Resolution” on top. The manufacturer cleverly had “New Year’s” out of focus with the word Resolution printed as sharp as a tack. This indicates that the new Vive will have a higher resolution display than the original model. Very smart, HTC.

Considering that Monday is the opening day of the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, we’d say that everything is coming together, pointing toward the unveiling of a new …
