Huawei Mate 10 and 10 Pro come with SuperCharge batteries that are safety certified

Huawei’s newest high-end smartphones, the Mate 10 and Mate
10 Pro, have a lot of common features – which is not surprising, since they’re
part of the same family of devices. One thing that users will likely appreciate
on the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro is battery life. Both handsets pack 4000 mAh
batteries that can last up to two days and feature SuperCharge – according to
Huawei, this fast-charge technology can provide “a whole day’s use with a
single 20-minute charge.”

Huawei is proud of its SuperCharge technology, announcing
that it’s the world’s first fast charge system to be safety …

Save hundreds by buying the certified pre-owned iPhone 7 from T-Mobile

If you want to replace your Apple iPhone 5 (which didn’t get the iOS 11 update) with a newer model, here is a suggestion. T-Mobile has the certified pre-owned 32GB iPhone 7 on sale for $366 or $15.25/month over 24 months. The 2016 model might not have the support for wireless charging that the newer units have, nor is it powered by the A11 Bionic chipset. Still, the A10 Fusion chipset remains a powerful smartphone driver.

As far as the phone being refurbished is concerned, T-Mobile has put the device through its tests which is why it is a “certified” pre-owned model. The refurbished unit …

Essential Phone gets certified, will now work on Verizon's network

While the only U.S. carrier selling (and leasing) the Essential Phone is Sprint, the carrier branded model and the unlocked version available from Essential, Amazon or Best Buy are now both certified for use with Verizon’s network. A text disseminated by Essential on Friday night, and one sent by Andy Rubin, both confirm that the Verizon certification is now complete for the handset that features a 5.7-inch edge-to-edge LCD display.

If you have a Verizon SIM card, all you need to do is insert it into the phone. It might take a reboot (according to Andy Rubin) before your Essential Phone …

Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 gets certified, expect it to launch very soon

We reported a few months ago that the sequel to the entry-level rugged tablet by Samsung, the Galaxy Tab Active is in the works and that it might be coming soon. Well, it looks like the slate is now one more step closer to release, although we doubt Samsung will hold a launch event just for the Galaxy Tab Active 2.

The US regulatory commission (FCC) has just certified Samsung’s Galaxy Tab Active 2, which goes by model numbers SM-T390 (LTE) and SM-T395 (Wi-Fi only). For the time being, it’s the Wi-Fi only version that got approved by the Federal Communications Commission, but we’re confident …

All phones certified by Netflix for HDR and Dolby Vision video streaming

Netflix just updated its mobile HDR and Dolby Vision streaming list with the newly-announced Android phones capable of reproducing those titles in their due gorgeousness. So far, it has certified just the LG G6 as able to display its Dolby Vision footage as the creators intended, yet, given the standard’s requirements, it seems that both LG and Dolby might have cut a few corners to certify the G6 display as Dolby Vision compatible.
When it comes to the more popular HDR-10 format, though, Netflix just added two more phones to the LG and …

Moto X4 certified by the FCC, specs revealed

While the Moto X4 did not get unveiled today as previously rumored, the device still managed to make the news. The FCC certified the handset in the U.S., and at the same time the full specs of the phone have been revealed. First, we can tell you that the phone’s FCC ID is IHDT56WK1. The model number in the U.S. is XT-1900-1, and you should check out the slideshow at the bottom of the story for some images taken from the FCC documentation.

The handset is equipped with a Gorilla Glass 3 protected 5.2-inch AMOLED display carrying a 1080 x 1920 (FHD) resolution. The Snapdragon 630 chipset is …

Sharp Aquos S2 is certified in China; device could be unveiled later today

Sometime today, we expect Sharp to officially introduce its new flagship model, the Sharp Aquos S2. The handset is equipped with a 5.5-inch edge-to-edge display carrying a 1080 x 2048 resolution, which means this is not the premium model with the 4k screen that we were looking forward to seeing this week. Instead, this is most likely model number FS8016, which is powered by the Snapdragon 660 SoC. We expect the chipset to carry an octa-core 2.2GHz CPU.

Apparently, there will be different versions of the phone. One will come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage, while another model …

Korean version of Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (SM-N950KOR) is now FCC certified

The Korean version of the unannounced Samsung Galaxy Note 8, sporting the model number SM-N950KOR, is now FCC certified. The phone is expected to be made official following an August 23rd introduction just one week before the September 1st opening of annual trade show IFA in Berlin. This model will feature a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display carrying a resolution of 1440 x 2880. 6GB of RAM is inside, and the Korean bred model is powered by the Exynos 8995 SoC.

The FCC filing indicates that the Korean Galaxy Note 8 will use the FCC E-label technique, and the screen will include an edge-to-edge …

FYI, Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6 have been certified for being environmentally friendly

Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6 are the first smartphones to receive an EPEAT (Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool) certificate, directly approved by the Green Electronics Council and Underwriters Laboratories.

The smartphones were subjected to multiple tests focused on many environmental aspects, including the using of toxic materials, energy efficiency and corporations’ social contributions.

But this isn’t why Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6 are the first to get this special certification, but because the new mobile phone category for EPEAT has been …

Moto Z2 Play is certified in China: 5.5-inch screen, 4GB RAM and 20% lower battery capacity

The Moto Z Play has made a name for itself thanks to the 3510mAh battery it sports. Add to that large capacity cell the power sipping Snapdragon 625 chipset that is found under the hood, and you have a phone that allows you to walk right past the outlets in your home, the office, the airports, or in the library. But the sequel to the phone, the Moto Z2 Play, is apparently not going to give users the same opportunity to go without a charge for two to three days.

With the Moto Z2 Play getting certified by Chinese regulatory agency TENAA (which is similar to the FCC in the U.S.) we understand …
