Moto Z2 Play is certified in China: 5.5-inch screen, 4GB RAM and 20% lower battery capacity

The Moto Z Play has made a name for itself thanks to the 3510mAh battery it sports. Add to that large capacity cell the power sipping Snapdragon 625 chipset that is found under the hood, and you have a phone that allows you to walk right past the outlets in your home, the office, the airports, or in the library. But the sequel to the phone, the Moto Z2 Play, is apparently not going to give users the same opportunity to go without a charge for two to three days.

With the Moto Z2 Play getting certified by Chinese regulatory agency TENAA (which is similar to the FCC in the U.S.) we understand …

Moto C and Moto C Plus certified in Russia ahead of official announcement

It’s no secret that Motorola Mobility has had its difficulties in recent times. Taken over by Google in 2011 before being passed onto Lenovo three years later, things looked ominous when the China-based company laid off a large chunk of its Motorola workforce last fall. But with the Moto Z series having shown flair in the flagship arena, things are looking up, and the likes of the Moto G and E series have continually demonstrated appeal to lower-budget audiences. With the latter in mind, recent reports have indicated that dirt-cheap Moto C is in the pipeline …

Nokia 3 (TA-1038) is certified by the FCC

The entry-level Nokia 3 (TA-1038)  has been certified by the FCC. Expected to launch in, India, Middle East, Africa, Asian Pacific and Europe markets sometime next quarter (May seems to be the best guess), the phone should be priced at the equivalent of $150 USD. The device is in the process of being pre-ordered in Germany and the Netherlands; while the FCC visit is no guarantee of a U.S. launch for the device, it still bodes well for those stateside Nokia fans hoping to snag the Nokia 3.

Samsung Galaxy S8 is certified by Chinese product quality testing agency CCC

Product testing lab UL tests products sold in the U.S. to make sure that they won’t electrocute users or burn down their homes. In China, any device that is imported into the country or produced domestically, must receive the China Compulsory Certification (CCC). And that obviously applies to smartphones, which are tested in labs inside China. We can now tell you that the Samsung Galaxy S8 has received its CCC certification.

While the model number for the phone in most regions is SM-G950 (and SM-G955 for the Samsung Galaxy S8+), in China the Galaxy S8 appears on the CCC documentation …

The information was confirmed by Harman back in December when the company published a video teaser of an upcoming voice-activated speaker. The new product by Harman Kardon would be powered by Microsoft’s Cortana.

Since the device …
