Apple iPhone batteries catch on fire yesterday and today at two different Apple Stores

For the second time in two days, an Apple iPhone battery exploded inside an Apple Store. Today, a room in the Apple Store in Valencia, Spain was filled with smoke after a battery inside an iPhone unit being repaired caught on fire. Workers at the store smothered the flames and opened the window to let out the smoke. While three firefighters and police arrived at the scene, their presence was not needed. There were no injuries as a result of the blast, which took place at 1:30pm local time.

LG G6 scheduled to receive Android 8.0 Oreo by February, but there's a catch

LG G6 is one of the many flagships that has yet to be updated to the most recent version of Android. Although the South Korean company promised to deliver Android Oreo to the LG G6 as fast as possible, it looks like the update won’t make it live until next year.

As some of you probably know by now, LG has already kicked off an Android Oreo beta program for the G6, but it’s only available in China. Now we have more information that indicates the Asian version of the LG G6 might be the first to receive the update.

Google bans Android apps that show ads on your lockscreen, there's a catch however

In a rather user-friendly move today, Google has changed its Play Store policies and no longer allows apps that place obtrusive ads on your handset’s lock screen. The new change affects all apps whose purpose is any other from being lockscreens themselves and is detailed in the the developers’ monetization support page. It reads as follows:

“Unless the exclusive purpose of the app is that of a lockscreen, apps may not introduce ads or features that monetize the locked display of a device.”
