BlackBerry Mobile is giving away a free Black Edition KEYone

The BlackBerry KEYone Black Edition is a handset that you might not mind having as your daily driver. The physical QWERTY keyboard is outstanding, and a zippy fingerprint button is embedded in the space bar. The combination of the 3505mAh battery and the energy sipping Snapdragon 625 chipset means that battery life is fantastic. In fact, our latest report on battery life for 2017 flagship models had the KEYone ranked first; a full battery gave the device 12 hours and 26 minutes of screen time. That was followed by the 10 hours and 57 minutes scored by the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active. In other words, …

Black Ceramic version of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 goes on sale

The all ceramic version of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 won’t scratch as much as the standard model, which features an aluminum frame (and some ceramic as well). It also has just the right amount of heft to it. A version of the all ceramic Mi Mix 2 in white was released last month, and today the same model in black is being offered in China, priced at ¥4699. That is equivalent to $702 USD at current exchange rates.

While the original Mi Mix was more of a proof of concept, it did kick off the current so-called bezel-less phone era that has spawned handsets like the Samsung Galaxy S8, the Essential …

Exasperated local news journalist is done with the Black Friday hype

TwitterFacebook

Black Friday tends to be a great time for some local news coverage. Hundreds of eager shoppers lining up in early morning hours tend to make for great visuals and person-on-the-street interviews.

That’s what Joshua Short of WNDU in South Bend, Indiana, expected. He was sorely disappointed—and didn’t mince words when he gave his report on the scene at around 5:15 A.M. local time.

The segment caught fire online. Short and anchor Alex Wilcox appeared to enjoy the moment, if not get a caught off guard by just how fast it spread.

Going viral is cool right?? You know what’s not so cool – a tweet you’re mentioned in going viral.@JoshuaShortWNDU you did this to me! pic.twitter.com/VV4BmaXM1H

You can still by the SNES Classic if you missed Black Friday

TwitterFacebook

Black Friday got you down cause you missed those juicy deals? Hot-ticket products flew off virtual and physical shelves on Friday, including Nintendo’s SNES Classic. Supplies were replenished at Best Buy on Saturday morning, and the coveted console will return to Toys R Us starting Nov. 27.

According to Polygon, the new Toys R Us supply will be fairly limited, but any SNES Classic restock is a good restock, right?

“We encourage you to get in line before doors open,” Toys R Us said in a blog post – but nothing will be available before stores’ regular operating hours. This doesn’t extend to online shopping (sorry, Cyber Monday!), so you’ll have to weather the lines and weather the weather to procure the Classic at long last. Read more…

Walmart customer irate after his iPhone 6 order for Black Friday is cancelled

What good is a Black Friday ad if all of the products being advertised are already sold out? That is what Walmart shoppers were complaining about after the discounter’s Black Friday stock was sold out on Thanksgiving. And that led to numerous tweets from very angry consumers accusing  the company of taking part in a bait and switch campaign. Apparently some well priced electronics were out of stock Friday morning as were some video games and cheaply priced clothing.

One customer ordered a pair of Apple iPhone 6 handsets for his twins at midnight Friday. At 7pm, he received a  message …
