Take that notch and shove it in the display's corner: check out the leaked fully bezel-less Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s

2017 was the year when two major events happened in the smartphone world: the fall of the bezel and the rise of the notch. We are talking, of course, about manufacturers slimming out the frame around their phone screens more and more. As a result, some were forced to put their selfie cameras and other front-facing sensors in a cutaway in the display’s real estate, which is now affectionately called “the notch”. You may have seen it on the iPhone X, but the Essential Phone is also notable for featuring the little bundle of love.

Manufacturers that don’t have “the notch” will have a bit of …

2017 has been a great year for smartphones. Not only because we saw a drastic jump towards the futuristic bezel-less designs that used to be just a dream, but also because said designs are quickly making their way down to the lower, more affordable tiers. And, as you probably know, there are some manufacturers out there, for whom “budget” doesn’t necessarily …

Honor V10 bezel-less smartphone with 6GB RAM, dual-camera to be unveiled on December 5

Some of you might remember that we reported last month about a launch event that Honor plans to hold on December 5. Although the Chinese company sent us an invitation to the event, it didn’t reveal what device will be unveiled early next month. The only thing we knew for certain is that Honor will introduce a bezel-less smartphone.

Well, it looks like the folks over at GizChina have managed to learn more details about what’s coming for Honor fans. Apparently, Honor V10 is the name of the device that will be announced on December 5.

Honor’s new flagship is supposed to boast a 5.99-inch …

Another teaser shows the bezel-less display of the HTC U11+

HTC is expected to unveil a new smartphone on November 2. It remains to be seen whether or not the Taiwanese company will unleash another flagship or just a mid-ranger.

What we do know is that the forthcoming device will feature a single lens camera, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a bezel-less display. The latter appears in a brand new teaser tweeted by HTC earlier today.

Although we’re only offered a glimpse of what’s to come, it pretty obvious that HTC has decided to slim down the dimensions of the bezels and make its upcoming device more pleasant …

It's (almost) all-screen: 2017's hottest bezel-less phones, ranked

2017 has undoubtedly turned into the year of the bezel-less smartphone, to the point where it’s easy to forget that a year and a half ago most phones didn’t look like they were taken straight out of an 80s sci-fi flick. Just for fun, take a look at this 2015 article of ours listing some of the highest screen-to-body ratio devices on the market — oh my, those bezels! The horror!
But why not explore this space once more? After all, the competition will be considerably more fierce (and, admit it, better-looking) this time. Plus, there’s …

HTC's bezel-less U11 Plus allegedly shows up in benchmarks, reveals specs

At this point most tech enthusiasts know about the Google/HTC deal where the latter sold a bunch of its talent and intellectual property to the former. And at least for a while this is going to be the most interesting fact about the troubled Taiwanese phone maker — until it starts releasing new noteworthy devices, to be exact.

And if what we’ve been hearing is true, this might come sooner than most people expect — invites seem to have been sent out for a November 2 launch event a couple of days ago. And from what we know, there will be at least …

Woah! This near bezel-less Microsoft phone could have been launched in 2014

Most relevant smartphone makers now have at least one
high-end handset with extremely thin bezels and high screen to body ratios. But this
is, as you probably know, a very recent trend. Three years ago, a near bezel-less
phone would have certainly drawn a lot of attention, and perhaps that’s why
Microsoft wanted to release such a device.

What we’re seeing in this article is a Lumia Windows Phone
prototype that Microsoft was working on a few years ago. According to Windows
Central, this was supposed to be released as the Lumia 435 (for around $200), but
it was cancelled in late 2014. …

LG V30 goes official: stunning bezel-less design and high-end audio in one powerful package

LG launched its V-series of smartphones in 2015 with the introduction of the LG V10 – a curious device stacked with unique features, some of which borderline experimental, such as a secondary display solely dedicated to displaying notifications, two front-facing cameras for super-wide-angle selfie shots, and of course, an excellent Hi-Fi DAC that has since become a staple of LG smartphones and a fan’s favorite. The experimentation continued through last year with the V20, which inherited the “ticker” display from the V10, but added a second wide-angle shooter on its back …

Huawei Mate 10 Pro will be the only Mate 10 variant with a bezel-less design, new rumor claims

One of Huawei’s biggest market successes outside of its own home country is definitely the Mate 9, so it only makes sense we’ll be seeing a successor to it soon. And this has already been confirmed, thanks to a video showing off the device’s camera capabilities.

But many people out there probably don’t know that there’s actually four different devices bearing the Mate 9 name — though the Porsche Design and Pro one are pretty much identical, and the Lite is just a mid-ranger using the name for a cheap marketing boost. So the question remains, will …

New Sharp Aquos flagship leak: bezel-less insanity

Just last week, Sharp announced the Aquos S2 — an upper-midrange handset with almost no bezels from all sides, save for a chin with a home button at the bottom. The Aquos family of devices was among the first to achieve that “tri-bezelless” look, but they haven’t been sold much outside of Japan. The only Aquos that reached Western markets was the Crystal, which was officially available through Sprint.

Anyway, with everyone doing crazy thin bezels this year, Sharp needs to up its screen-to-body ratio game a bit. And it seems it has.

An unknown “Sharp Aquos flagship” has been leaked …
