Puffin Lite is a brand new iPhone browser based on Apple's iOS webkit

Puffin Web Browser is a very old browser that made its debut on the iOS platform many years ago, but as the need for better optimized, lighter apps arises, developers are bringing new apps to meet customers demands.

One such developer is CloudMosa, which has just announced it has released a lighter version of the old Puffin Web Browser. Simply dubber Puffin Lite, the new iOS browser is already available for download via App Store.

It’s worth mentioning that Puffin Lite is based on Apple’s iOS WebKit and promises to combine fast speeds with a sleek new look and updated features.

Swedish artist Peter Norrby, is planning on offering an AR based app for free in the Apple App Store titled The Parallax View. Last week, the artist posted an example of what can be done with Apple’s ARKit in the form of an optical illusion that he created using the “iPhone X with ARKit’s face-tracking to perform head-tracking in 3D.” The artist shows off the illusion and explains how he put it together on a video that you can view at the top of this story. LineageOS, the custom ROM that rose from the wreck that CyanogenMod left two years ago, is finally ready to release a version based on Android 8.1. LineageOS 15.1 is the first version completely controlled by the new team, although many of CyanogenMod’s features can be found in LineageOS. Starting tomorrow, nightlies will begin for a limited number of Android devices. That means that these are not stable releases and could be extremely buggy. Too lazy to be creative with Snapchat? Well, there’s a new feature for you.

Snap quietly launched new filters that recognize what’s being snapped and provide a contextually relevant border or sticker. The update comes ahead of a massive app redesign as the company tries to keep users and advertisers engaged. The filters began gradually rolling out to users last week, a Snap spokesperson confirmed to Mashable

The filters will automatically appear in the user’s carousel of filters after they take a photo snap of something within a certain set of categories. These include items at concerts, beaches, pets, sports, and food, a Snap spokesperson told Mashable.  Read more…
