WhatsApp group audio and video calls features go live for some Android users

Facebook announced in early May during the annual F8 developer conference that it will bring new features to WhatsApp in the not so distant future. Audio and video calls, as well as stickers, were among the new improvements Facebook promised to WhatsApp users, but the social network company didn’t provide a time frame.

Well, it looks like it didn’t need to since at least two of the previously announced features are now making their way to Android users. AndroidPolice reports that many WhatsApp users are now seeing the group calls option on their Android devices.

It’s worth mentioning …

LG puts the focus on audio with the G7 ThinQ

In a time where manufacturers are abandoning the headphone jack, LG has just announced several new features to appear in the upcoming G7 ThinQ. LG has been known for including quad-DACs in its phones. Those who love high-end headphones and audiophiles are always very appreciative of this feature. It is clear that a majority of music today comes from the smartphone. We power Bluetooth speakers with them at parties, we connect headphones to them at the gym and we connect to our vehicle’s sound system when driving. LG recognizes this and is placing the focus on one of the things that move us, …

Huawei MediaPad M5 leaked renders reveal lack of audio jack, high-end specs

It appears that Huawei will be one of the few companies to release new Android tablets in the first half of the year. The Chinese giant is ready to unveil one or more slates, but that probably won’t happen until late next month at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018.

We reported last month on an Android tablet that Huawei might launch at some point, the MediaPad M5. It looks like the device made it to FCC (Federal Communications Commission), which means it will be introduced pretty soon.

Along with some information about the MediaPad M5’s specs, FCC also listed several pictures of the …

Audio Technica's new Bluetooth headphones look great for sports

Audio Technica has a brand new pair of sporty Bluetooth neck-bud headphones – the ATH-SPORT70BT model – and we got to spend some time with them at CES 2018, so here are our first impressions.

The Audio-Technica ATH-SPORT70BT headphones are super lightweight and the wire can be adjustable so nothing is flapping. This means that the actual experience of wearing them is very comfortable and fitting for an intense workout. On the flipside of things, they are pretty conservative in terms of looks and styling, so they might not be everyone’s cup of tea if you value …

Alleged Galaxy S9 clear case restates the fingerprint scanner move and the audio jack

A newly leaked clear case, allegedly destined for the Galaxy S9, is making the rounds, and it looks to be fitting like a glove around the CAD-based renders that appeared yesterday. Unfortunately, it also means that Samsung may indeed reserve the dual camera set as a Galaxy S9+ exclusive, as this case here shows too short of an opening on the back for it to house two lenses and a finger scanner. Speaking of, the case hints at a different, under-camera fingerprint reader placement, compared to the S8, just as most leaks so far have iterated, which is a welcome change.
