Apple’s HomePod smart speaker launch date is fast approaching next week, yet we are just now learning that you won’t be able to play audio on it vi… you guessed it… Bluetooth, despite that the HomePod is equipped with the latest high-range, low-power 5.0 version of the wireless connectivity standard. So, what are my options to run tunes on the HomePod, you ask? Well, straight from the newly updated audio sources list that Apple just posted:
It appears that Huawei will be one of the few companies to release new Android tablets in the first half of the year. The Chinese giant is ready to unveil one or more slates, but that probably won’t happen until late next month at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018.
We reported last month on an Android tablet that Huawei might launch at some point, the MediaPad M5. It looks like the device made it to FCC (Federal Communications Commission), which means it will be introduced pretty soon.
Along with some information about the MediaPad M5’s specs, FCC also listed several pictures of the …
Audio Technica has a brand new pair of sporty Bluetooth neck-bud headphones – the ATH-SPORT70BT model – and we got to spend some time with them at CES 2018, so here are our first impressions.
As expected, HMD Global has just taken the wraps off another Android smartphone, a small Nokia 6 upgrade. Dubbed Nokia 6 2nd Generation, the handset will be exclusively available for purchase in China for $230.
Unlike the previous Nokia 6 model that packs an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, the 2nd Generation comes with an upgraded 2.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 CPU.
The new Nokia 6 2nd Gen comes in two variations: 32GB and 64GB. Both versions include 4GB RAM though. The former costs $230, whereas the latter will sell for around $245 …

A newly leaked clear case, allegedly destined for the Galaxy S9, is making the rounds, and it looks to be fitting like a glove around the CAD-based renders that appeared yesterday. Unfortunately, it also means that Samsung may indeed reserve the dual camera set as a Galaxy S9+ exclusive, as this case here shows too short of an opening on the back for it to house two lenses and a finger scanner. Speaking of, the case hints at a different, under-camera fingerprint reader placement, compared to the S8, just as most leaks so far have iterated, which is a welcome change.
Google’s latest Pixel phones are some of the hottest Android flagships in town, but their commercial release has been marred by quite a few issues. One problem that still irritates some owners is a distortion of audio in video playback. Google acknowledged the problem back in late October and promised to resolve it with a software fix.
Now, we’re happy to say that videos will sound much better when Android Oreo 8.1 becomes official. The update is still in beta, but there’s no sign of the bug in the Developer Preview 2 test release of the software. Fortunately, we …
So let’s say that you are using Bluetooth on your Android Oreo powered handset so that you can play music over your car’s audio system. As soon as you connect to the car’s speaker, your phone appears to be connecting to a phantom incoming phone call. There is nothing on the dialer suggesting that a call was received. Since the car’s audio system thinks that it has to turn over control of the speaker to a phone call, albeit one that doesn’t exist, the music you wanted to listen to is replaced by silence.
Last month, a thread was started on the Google Issue Tracker site and as it turns …
