Samsung Galaxy S8+ prototype with vertical dual cameras on back appears once more

Earlier this month, we passed along a photo showing a Samsung model with a vertically placed dual camera setup on the back. This was alleged to be a prototype of the Samsung Galaxy S8+. Apparently, Sammy had it in mind to include the two snappers on the rear of its premium flagship unit. Today, a new leak has surfaced once again, showing the same phone. What looks like an oddly placed fingerprint scanner on back could be merely the reflection from a flash.

Another thought is that the image in the picture is the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. The most recent speculation has the next Samsung phablet …

Out of nowhere, a wild Samsung Galaxy S8 in Purple appears!

Recently, we learned that the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ are supposedly being prepared in four color variants – Blue, Gray, Black, and Silver. But earlier this month, word got out that Samsung is making a Puprle version as well. And leakster @kksneaksleaks has managed to get to it, posting four photos of the Milka-colored Galaxy S8 on Twitter.

What we’re seeing is completely consistent with all the previous leaks available, so truthfully, there isn’t much to reflect on. If the late, great Prince lived today, he would have pre-ordered this Galaxy S8.

With little over a week left until …

Flagship spec'd LG phone appears on Geekbench, heading to U.S. Cellular

A new flagship LG handset was discovered on Geekbench this morning. Based on the model number (LGE LGUS997), this is a device that is headed to the 5th largest carrier in the states, U.S. Cellular. The Snapdragon 820 chipset is under the hood. U.S. Cellular does offer two different handsets made by LG that feature the Snapdragon 820 SoC. One is the LG V20 and the other is the LG G5. So the question is whether we are looking at one of those two models, or a new handset altogether.

The device that was tested features Android 7.0 and is powered by a quad-core CPU clocked at 2.19GHz. 4GB of …

LG Watch Sport appears on Geekbench

As we’ve told you before, Google and LG will introduce two new smartwatches on February 8th, and launch them two days later. These two timepieces are the first to come out of the box with Android Wear 2.0 pre-installed. The LG Watch Style is the lower priced of the two, with $249 rumored to be that price. Speculation has the LG Watch Sport priced $100 higher at $349. The latter model comes with a heart rate monitor, LTE (meaning that it will make and take calls without pairing with a smartphone), GPS and NFC. While the Watch Style will have an IP67 certification rating, the Watch Sport carries …

Samsung Galaxy On5 appears on Geekbench with 2GB of RAM and Android 6.0.1

Last month, India’s export-import site Zauba showed that the SM-G570 had been shipped into India for R&D and testing. Since the Samsung Galaxy On5 (2015) is model number SM-G550, it seems a good bet that the SM-G570 imported into India is the Samsung Galaxy On5 (2016). Today, the device was spotted on the Geekbench website after a benchmark test was done.

According to the Geekbench test, the Samsung Galaxy On5 (2016) will come with Android 6.0.1 pre-installed. It also will feature 2GB of RAM, and is powered by a quad-core CPU. The benchmark test resulted in a multi-core score of 2000. On Zauba, the only spec that was revealed was the 5-inch size of the screen.

Pricing and availability are unknown at this point. The Galaxy On5 (2016) has a sibling, the Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016). We expect the latter to feature a 5.5-inch screen with a Snapdragon 625 SoC under the hood.

Mysterious Android 5.2 Lollipop Update Appears on Nexus 5

News is like rubbing salt on wounds of the people who are still waiting for the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. Couple of weeks ago, devices like Nexus, Moto G and Android One were spotted running on the Android 5.1 Lollipop.

Today an alleged picture of the Android 5.2 Lollipop build has been spotted running on Nexus 5.

This leak has been spotted on the website Geekbench. A few day ago, Android One devices were spotted in Malaysia running on Android 5.1 Lollipop. This mystery build of 5.2 Lollipop is shown on the website along with the benchmark results and specifications of the device.

It is a known fact that Nexus devices are the first to get any Android update and Android 5.1 Lollipop still hasn’t been rolled out to everyone. The existence of a 5.2 build can’t be denied and it’s possible that the Android 5.1 Lollipop update could be skipped to facilitate the release of Android 5.2 Lollipop update. The 5.2 build is still a mystery but I hope to see some major changes in the update.

It should be noted that according to Google’s own data, Android 5.0 Lollipop is running only on 1.6% of Android devices.
