Sony H3213 Avenger appears in benchmark with dual selfie cameras

Sony has yet to launch a smartphone with dual cameras, but it looks like the Japanese company is about to correct that “issue.” The Xperia H3213 Avenger is the model number and codename of one of Sony’s upcoming smartphones, and probably the first to feature a dual-camera setup.

However, unlike most of the smartphones that include such a camera configuration, the Xperia H3213 has two cameras in the front. The information is confirmed by the listing of the phone at GFXBench, which also mentions the handset will boast a 21-megapixel rear-facing camera.

If the benchmark is indeed real, …

Samsung Galaxy S9+ appears in benchmark with (only) 4GB RAM

Samsung is rumored to launch its new flagship duo – the Galaxy S9 and S9+, earlier than usual. Since the South Korean company unveils new Galaxy S series flagships in late February or early March, if the rumors are true, Samsung might introduce them as early as January.

New information about Samsung’s upcoming top-of-the-line smartphones has just emerged online, which suggests the Galaxy S9 and S9+ are already being tested before prime time.

As some of you may already know, the two devices have been given new model numbers: SM-G960 and SM-G965. The latter was recently spotted at Geekbench, …

OnePlus 5T appears in photograph snapped in Paris?

Amid all sorts of rumors and speculation, earlier today OnePlus CEO Pete Lau killed two birds with one stone. In a message posted on his company’s own forum, he not only confirmed that OnePlus’ next handset will have a 3.5mm wireless jack, he called it the OnePlus 5T by name. Thus, rumors that this would be the name of the next model from OnePlus turned out to be right on.

Teasers from OnePlus show that the 5T will probably be the same physical size as the OnePlus 5, but will sport a larger screen because of the narrower bezels. It is the same effect that makes the Apple iPhone X smaller …

Oreo appears for the first time in Google's Android distribution chart

The Pixel 2 and its bigger Pixel XL 2 might soon become the first smartphones to ship with Android Oreo on board, soon followed by Huawei’s Mate 10. However, the new version of Android has already made it in Google’s Android distribution chart for the month of October.

Although many Pixel and Nexus devices have already been updated to Android Oreo, they account for less than 1% of the Android smartphone market share, which is why they don’t matter that much in the grand scheme of things.

Add to that that Google’s doesn’t take into consideration any Android …

On the eve of its unveiling, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 appears in Orchid Gray

Less than 24 hours before the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 becomes official, tipster extraordinaire Evan Blass comes through again with an image of the high-end phablet in Orchid Gray. In addition to the dual-camera setup on back, we can see the fingerprint scanner to the very right of the camera module, which also includes a pair of lenses and the dual LED flash. Because the flash is in between the camera lenses and the fingerprint scanner, the chances of either lens getting smudged by a user blindly seeking to unlock the device is low.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is expected to feature a 6.3-inch …

Asus ZenFone 4 appears on GFXBench, revealing specs prior to next week's unveiling

The other day, Asus accidentally posted information about four upcoming ZenFone 4 models including the ZenFone 4, ZenFone 4 Selfie, ZenFone 4 Pro and the ZenFone 4 Max. Today, the Asus ZenFone 4 appeared on benchmark site GFXBench which revealed some of the handset’s specs. Let’s start with the 5.5-inch display, which has a 1080 x 1920 resolution. Powering the phone is an octa-core CPU running at a clock speed of 2.2GHz. The Adreno 508 GPU is on board, which suggests that it is the Snapdragon 630 SoC under the hood.

The GFXBench listing also indicates that the ZenFone 4 will come with 4GB …

Apple iPhone 8 dummy appears in shiny black, copper and pearl colors?

The tenth anniversary edition of the Apple iPhone is drawing nearer and nearer. The phone, currently known as the Apple iPhone 8, Apple iPhone X or Apple iPhone Pro, is easily one of the most eagerly awaited handsets in the industry. Thanks to the large number of leaks, we think that we have a good idea of what to expect of the “edge-to-edge” display on the upcoming premium version of the iPhone.

The back of the handset could feature a vertically mounted dual-camera setup on back, the iconic Apple logo, and absolutely no rear facing Touch ID button. The colors displayed in the accompanying …

Snapdragon 845 appears in Qualcomm's ITC filing seeking a ban on U.S. iPhone imports

Earlier this year, we had some information pertaining to the unannounced Snapdragon 845 chipset, rumored to be Qualcomm’s next flagship SoC. First reports had the chip using the 7nm process, which would have increased performance by 25% to 35% over the currently used Snapdragon 835 chip. But that rumor has since been spiked since the 7nm process won’t be ready for mass production next year.

While the Samsung Galaxy S9 is rumored to be the first handset to use the Snapdragon 845, LG said back in May that it will use the chip inside its 2018 flagship model. This year, LG had to use 2016’s …

LG V30 appears on Geekbench?

The LGE LG-H932PR was discovered today on the Geekbench benchmark app. This could be the LG V30 getting sized up. We come to that conclusion because of the Snapdragon 835 SoC listed as powering the device. The latter is equipped with an octa-core 1.9GHz CPU. The LG Q6 is out of contention because that phone is powered by the Snapdragon 435 chipset.  Android 7.1.2 is pre-installed.

While not mentioned on Geekbench, we expect the phone to carry a 5.7-inch OLED display with the FullVision 18:9 aspect ratio. 4GB of RAM is said to be inside along with 64GB of native storage. A dual camera …
