The OnePlus 6 Alert Slider will also adjust camera focus

A new, camera-related OnePlus 6 feature has been teased by the company. The Chinese OEM has made no secret of its plans to launch the OnePlus 6 in the near future, with a number of teasers being released via the company’s official social media pages. Now, following previous gesture and spec-related teasers, OnePlus appears to have confirmed a new functionality for its popular Alert Slider.

The Tweet sent out by the company includes a short, animated video accompanied by the caption “Slide to focus with the Alert Slider,” the latter element being the biggest giveaway in regards to what the …

Google’s Pixels are probably the best phones you can get if you want to get the pure Android experience, the way Google intended it to feel. But they are quite pricey, too. You can call them the “iPhone of Android” because they are pretty much the equivalent …

Deal alert: refurbished Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra for just $229.99!

Buy Here

Sony’s Xperia XA line is a relatively new Sony smartphone line, which was first to shake things up a bit design-wise. It has these razor-thin side bezels, making it extremely easy to wrap your hand around the phone. Still, it has huge top and bottom bezels, but it makes up for that with a high-res, optically-stabilized selfie camera and stereo, front-firing speakers.

The Xperia XA1 Ultra is a midrange phablet through and …

Privacy matters: Android P might alert you if a phone call is being recorded

Android 9.0 P is likely just around the corner as an early developer beta and possible features of the upcoming build are slowly trickling out. Just yesterday, we informed you about a slew of plausible features that involved display notch support, visual improvements to make the OS more appealing to iOS users, as well as making Android future-proof and capable of correctly working on unorthodox devices like the dual-screen ZTE Axon M and the oft-rumored foldable Galaxy X. Battery improvements are also mentioned.

Today, a somewhat minor but undoubtedly noteworthy feature …

Apple iPhone support app will reserve the iPhone battery you need, and alert you when it's in stock

Ever since Apple disseminated its apology last month for slipping in software under iPhone owners’ noses, which was used to throttle the CPU speed of certain models, Apple Stores around the world have been mobbed. Here’s why. Apple said that it had to slowdown the processor on certain handsets since these units no longer had the battery strength to handle complex tasks, without the risk of shutting down the phone. Fixing that requires Apple to swap out the weaker battery for a brand new fresh one. To get back into good graces with its customers, Apple cut the price to replace the battery on select …

False alert: Here's what OnePlus' Clipboard app actually sends to Chinese servers

yesterday, we reported on yet another slightly-alarming security issue related to OnePlus’ devices and a potential security breach that had many worried their sensitive data leaked out to Chinese servers. This time, however, it would seem that this was a false alert as it turns out OnePlus is merely trying to prevent popular Chinese messenger Wechat from blocking certain links leading to some of the bigger Chinese online retailers. OnePlus’ Clipboard unblocks said links by sending a predefined hashcode token that essentially fools out Wechat into thinking the links are okay.

But why …
