Snapchat update adds GIF stickers and some design changes

The team behind Snapchat has just announced new features are coming to its app as of this week. After the users’ backlash following Snapchat’s redesign, the developers have decided to make some changes that should diminish some of the bad choices they made in the past.

First off, the latest update brings GIF stickers, which are now available via Giphy. These can be found in the Sticker Picker tab, along with many other GIF options. YouTube TV adds a bunch of channels and cities—for a price

YouTube TV is expanding its programming, and will be available in more cities with a higher price.

The network has added a number of channels to its lineup, including TNT, Adult Swim, TBS, CNN, Cartoon Network, truTV, and Turner Classic Movies. Soon, sports lovers can also expect NBA TV and MLB Network to join YouTube TV’s base package, and NBA League Pass and MLB.TV as add-ons. 

The service is also expanding to new areas, to cover what it clams is 85 percent of U.S. households. The service was previously available in around 75 cities. The new regions include Honolulu, Hawaii; El Paso, Texas; Richmond, Va.; Charleston, S.C.; Syracuse, N.Y.; and Scranton, Penn; Burlington, Vt.; and Lexington, Mass.  Read more…

Google adds more channels to YouTube TV, but service gets more expensive

YouTube TV is a relatively new service that’s been launched in some regions in the the United States. We’ve been reporting about YouTube TV since its launch and the service is now available in more than 40 markets in the US.

Apple adds 'News' section to its TV app

Back in September, alongside the unveiling of the Apple TV 4K, the company also showed a demo featuring the new ‘Sports’ and ‘News’ sections of its TV app for iOS and tvOS. The ‘Sports’ section got released back in November with the iOS and tvOS 11.2 releases, and today we’ve finally got the ‘News’ section.

Microsoft adds an important tool to OneNote for Android

Microsoft is trying to make OneNote a much easier app to work with on Android devices. The latest update brings a much need tool – lasso. Apparently, many OneNote users requested the feature that would allow them to freely select ink drawings and other content on their page.

But that’s not the only new addition to OneNote, as the changelog also mentions Android users will now be able to change the size of images and move text and images around on the page. The option to change sizes of content should allow you to keep things more organized.

After The New York Times published Uma Thurman’s #MeToo account on Saturday, one person dominated the coverage — Harvey Weinstein.

But the actress recounted two stories of abuse in the Times piece, one featuring Harvey Weinstein and the other, Quentin Tarantino. Only the Weinstein story featured sexual assault and misconduct, which is why only one would be classified as a traditional #MeToo story.

The allegations against Tarantino are harder to classify. They don’t involve sexual assault or harassment or anything that could be neatly categorized as sexual misconduct. But both stories, however distant from one another they may seem, involve an abuse of power that feels both gendered and familiar, adding a whole other layer of complexity to the increasingly intricate #MeToo conversation.
