Action Launcher update brings Essential Phone support, adds adaptive folders

Action Launcher, the popular Android app that allows users to customize their smartphones, is getting yet another important update. This would be version 31 and, as developer Chris Lacy points out, the launcher receives a handful of new features and improvements.

First off, Essential Phone users will be pleased to know Action Launcher now has support for this particular device. Another important addition is adaptive folders support. Next version of Nova Launcher to bring adaptive icons support

A brand new version of Nova Launcher was released earlier this week, which brought quite a few important changes that Android users can take advantage of. But there’s a new version of the launcher that’s being in the works now that will add a couple of other major improvements.

Released as beta, Nova Launcher v5.5 brings support for adaptive icons into the mix. The new feature is fully compatible with devices running Android 5.0 Lollipop and higher, but some icons will require at least Android Nougat.

Google Allo is getting in-chat translations, adaptive icon support

Google’s chat app Allo is receiving another update, this one adding in-chat translations for everyone and adaptive icon support for users running Android 8.0 Oreo.

The translation feature is pretty simple to use. All you need to do after you update, is to long-press a message and the Google Translate icon will pop up at the top of your screen. Tap the icon and the message will be automatically translated. To hide the translation, long press the message bubble again and tap “Undo.”
