AT&T kicks off Android 8.0 Oreo rollout for the Moto Z2 Force

Surely, AT&T is not the last major carrier in the United States that releases the Android 8.0 Oreo update for Moto Z2 Force. However, Verizon and T-Mobile have already pushed out Oreo to the Moto Z2 Force back in December, which leaves Sprint to sort it out somehow.

The phone’s support page on AT&T’s website has been updated to confirm the rollout began on February 20. According to the information published by the carrier, the update should weigh in at around 335MB and contains the January security patch.

It’s kind of strange that AT&T reports the Oreo update file is so …

Asus ZenFone 5 Max with Android 8.0 Oreo gets certified ahead of official announcement

It appears that Asus plans to launch a new ZenFone series much earlier than last year. As many of you probably know by now, the ZenFone 4 smartphones were delayed several months, thus hurting Asus’ revenue.

However, the company’s CEO Jerry Shen promised fans that it won’t happen again and that the first ZenFone 5 smartphones should be unveiled as early as March. That means we might see these devices at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018, which is set to kick off in late February.

Motorola is one of the not so many companies that have already released Android 8.0 Oreo updates for some of its smartphones. After Moto Z2 Force, it appears that the next smartphone to get the update is a mid-range device, the Moto Z2 Play.

Although the information hasn’t been confirmed by Motorola, we have reason to believe that the Moto Z2 Play will soon receive an Android 8.0 Oreo update. That’s because Motorola has already begun soak testing the update in Brazil.

Brazil is usually the country where Motorola starts testing new Android updates, but we have no clue how long it will …

European LG G6 expected to receive Android 8.0 Oreo in Q2 2018

The G6 is definitely not the first LG smartphone to receive an update to Android 8.0 Oreo, but even being the second means waiting quite a long time. Although a beta program seems to be live in China, the LG G6 won’t be getting Android Oreo until February in the Middle East region, and that’s only if LG’s customer service was correct.

If you’ve purchased your LG G6 in the United States or Europe, you’ll have to wait even longer. According to LG Italy, LG G6 is supposed to be updated to Android Oreo within the first half of 2018, which means the update might arrive by June.
