After running a beta program in South Korea, LG is finally pushing out Android 8.0 Oreo to the LG G6 in other regions. In a surprising turn of events, US carrier Verizon kicked off the rollout of Android 8.0 Oreo for LG G6 less than a week ago.

Starting this week, the update is rolling out across Europe but unlocked LG G6 units are the first to get the update. Portugal, Romania, and Latvia are among the first European countries to receive the update, but other that we haven’t been tipped yet may get it as well.

It looks like Verizon is the first US carrier to roll out the long-awaited Android 8.0 Oreo update for the LG G6. Unfortunately, Verizon hasn’t yet updated the phone’s support page, so it’s unclear what security patch the update contains.

However, we do know this is a pretty sizable update, as it weighs in at around 1.9GB, so make sure you have enough storage before attempting to download it.
