Alleged Apple iPhone 8 schematic shows vertical dual camera setup on back (Update)

UPDATE: Apparently, the Chinese text layered over the image clarifies that it is a fictional drawing of what the next iPhone could be.

Better grab the ol’ salt shaker because you are going to need a grain of the stuff to take this story with. According to tipster SlashLeaks, the schematic drawing that accompanies this story is allegedly showing us the 10th anniversary iPhone known as the Apple iPhone 8. As expected, Touch ID has vanished, and the fingerprint scanner is embedded in the glass as part of the .6-inch area of the screen that will replace the home button …

Analyst: Apple iPhone 8 to be delayed but will still be available for the holidays

The baseball season has just started and warm weather is returning to the Northern Hemisphere. That is why it seems strange to be thinking about the 2017 holiday season right now. But looking ahead is what Wall Street analysts have to do in order to make accurate forecasts for their clients. Take Drexel Hamilton analyst Brian White. Today, he told clients through a note, that the 10th anniversary edition of the Apple iPhone (dubbed the iPhone 8) will not be released in September as hoped.

White says that the 3-D sensing technology, which allows the front-facing camera to recognize the user’s …

Note: The thumbnail image to the left is an Apple iPhone 8 concept created by graphic designer AlHasan Husni

Just yesterday, we told you that Samsung will be spending $8.9 billion to expand production of OLED panels this year, with Apple the likely beneficiary of this spending. Today, a report from Japan’s Nikkei news agency revealed today that Apple has ordered 70 million OLED panels from Samsung for use in 2017. The 10th anniversary iPhone model, dubbed the Apple iPhone 8, is expected to be the only handset from Apple using OLED this year. As a result, we can deduce that Apple expects …

Facebook to scrap support for Messenger on Windows Phone 8 and 8.1 at the end of March

Following the demise of Skype app on Windows Phone 8.1 early this month, Microsoft is about to lose another messaging service at the end of March, Messenger.

Facebook recently started to send emails to those using Messenger on Windows Phone 8 and 8.1 devices to let them know it will end support for its application at the end of this month.

The decision is not surprising considering Windows Phone market share had been shrinking to less than 1% worldwide in the last year or so. That’s one more way to say Windows Phone 8 and 8.1 doesn’t matter anymore, and if you’re still using a smartphone …

What the Galaxy S8/S8+ and the LG G6 may look like next to an almost bezel-less iPhone 8

2017 is shaping up as the year of small bezels and big displays. Although phone makers have been trying to increase screen size without adding unnecessary bulk to their products for some time, it is only now that something of a more meaningful paradigm shift is emerging on the horizon. Yes, we’ve already seen a couple of “bezel-less” phones, but they didn’t have the mass-market appeal of your iPhones, and Galaxies, and Pixels, and they weren’t really meant to have it. Back in 2014, the Sharp Aquos was a bold and flawed device that showcased what smartphones could look …

iPhone 8 could be released in September, but you may have a hard time finding one

If you’re excited about Apple’s upcoming iPhone 8, which reportedly features an OLED screen and an impressive screen to body ratio (never seen before on an Apple handset), you may want to know that the device could be hard to find at launch.

According to MacRumors, which cites information revealed by several Barclays analysts, the iPhone 8 will be both announced, and released in September – alongside regular iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus models (these should be direct successors to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus). However, Barclays analysts have noted that the …

Alleged Note 8 specs and schematics tip 6.4" 4K display, 6GB RAM, mysterious perforations

With the Galaxy S8 and S8+ already behind us, we can safely turn our prophetic gaze into the future, namely the Galaxy Note 8. We kid, but there have been so many leaks and tips about the upcoming Galaxy S8 flagship that there’s barely a thing we still don’t know or suspect with а good degree of certainty. The Note 8, however, is a totally different matter, as we only have the immortal words of Samsung’s DJ Koh: “I will bring back a better, safer and very innovative Note 8,” uttered way back in January.
While we already speculated a bit over what the “innovative” …
