5 inch Gpd XD Game Tablet PC – US PLUG BLACK

The GPD XD is made by the company GamePad Digital, who have also made other Android gaming handhelds like the GPD G5A and GPD G7.

The design of the device clearly mimics that of Nintendo’s popular NDS and 3DS handhelds, with the exclusion of the iconic second touchscreen. The bottom face of the device houses a normal set of action buttons and a d-pad, along with a pair of analog sticks and two buttons next to the analogs. Speakers are located at the bottom of the front, and appear to be stereo speakers. There’s also a cluster of buttons in the center of the device, which should be easily mappable to any game that you would play.

On the rear, there’s 2 standard sized shoulder buttons, along with a pair of smaller shoulder buttons as well. The ports on the rear compromise of a microSD card slot, a HDMI-out port, a microUSB port and a DC charging port. Upfront, there’s the display and some rather thin bezels.

Microsoft Nokia Lumia 540 sells for $150 in Europe, Asia, Middle East

Microsoft is at it again, releasing the next in its line of increasingly indistinguishable Lumia phones.

This time it’s the Lumia 540 Dual SIM, for which the biggest claims to fame are its large, 5-inch screen, its double-barrel SIM slots and its low price: $150, or, converted, about £100 and AU$200.

Digging into the specs, we get a 1,280×720-pixel HD resolution for that 5-inch display, which is about as low as you can go on a screen of this size and still have it be readable. An 8-megapixel camera on the rear includes autofocus and an LED flash, while the 5-megapixel front-facing shooter has wide-angle selfies covered.

Inside, a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor keeps the phone going, as does its removable 2,200mAh battery. You’re also looking at 1GB RAM and only 8GB of internal storage, which you can supplement with up to 128GB more through a microSD card slot and 15GB in the cloud.

As far as specs go, this is a modest set that lines up with an unarguably low price. The idea here is that budget followers can still have their big-screen cake and eat it, too.

Microsoft finishes the Lumia 540 Dual SIM, which goes on sale in May in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, in the Lumia line’s now signature cyan and eye-searing orange (glossy), as well as the more demure white and black (matte).
