In case you didn’t notice, it’s very cold across parts of the globe, stretching from a good chunk of the U.S. to the UK and Europe and even down into India this New Year’s EveThe coldest in decades, in fact, and the chill is going to hang around for a bit. 

While that makes it incredibly inconvenient to do anything that doesn’t involve being on your couch under around a dozen or so blankets, the weather does make for some interesting images and you can enjoy them without having to dig out your gloves and scarf.  Read more…

On Saturday, January 21, 2017, the Trump administration began not with a gentle dose of diplomacy but with a red-faced tirade delivered by Press Secretary Sean Spicer, lambasting the media over reports of low attendance at the previous day’s inauguration festivities.

At the time, Spicer’s tantrum felt unprecedented, a press secretary shoved out to defend the embattled new president against charges that people didn’t like him (never mind that he lost the popular vote).

It proved to be the rule, not the exception. The outburst revealed three key characteristics that would be a part of just about every interaction between the Trump administration and the press: 1. Samsung announces the Z4, quite possibly 2017's most under-spec'd name brand phone

Following its appearance at the Wi-Fi Alliance for certification, the Samsung Z4 got its official announcement today. This is the latest smartphone to run the company’s proprietary Tizen OS. Different builds of Tizen power many of Sammy’s smart devices, including TV sets and smartwatches. It also runs on low-cost phones like the Z4 and its predecessors.
