Motorola Moto X4 to be announced at IFA 2017 this week

Lenovo’s long-rumored Motorola Moto X4 – a smartphone that we saw plenty of times until now – will finally be announced this week at IFA 2017.

While Lenovo’s IFA 2017 event isn’t kicking off until tomorrow, August 31, the company doesn’t seem particularly interested in keeping the Moto X4 a secret, as the photo seen above (snapped on the premises of the event) is suggesting. The photo confirms the new phone’s name, but not much else. Nevertheless, we already heard a lot about the X4.

Sporting a 5.2-inch 1080p display, the Moto X4 should be an upper-mid-range …

Unlocked Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) now available in the US

The Galaxy A7 (2017), one of Samsung’s nicest mid-range smartphones released this year, is now available to buy in the US. More exactly, the handset is not officially released stateside by Samsung, but you can purchase its dual SIM version from B&H Photo Video.

While you may also find the Galaxy A7 (2017) through third-party vendors via Amazon, you’re not getting any kind of US warranty by buying it that way. At B&H, the retailer offers the phone with 1-year warranty, asking $379.99 for it.

The blue and gold variants of the handset are in stock …

Kendrick Lamar and the stunning visuals for his single “HUMBLE” took home the coveted Video of the Year award at this year’s MTV VMA awards. It’s the fifth award the video has received tonight.

Lamar’s “HUMBLE” beat out a slew of stars who had to sit down and be humble in the presence of the G.O.A.T.—including Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic,” Alessia Cara’s “Scars to Your Beautiful,” DJ Khaled’s “Wild Thoughts” featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller, and The Weeknd’s “Reminder.”

He accepted the award from Wonder Woman‘s Gal Gadot and gave a sweet but brief thank you to fans and the folks behind the video.  Read more…

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) to be launched as Galaxy Tab A2 S

A new, affordable tablet is expected to be unveiled by Samsung in the coming weeks. The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) leaked a few times in the past, but the South Korean company is still mum on the launch of the slate.

Today, we’ve learned another tiny detail about the upcoming tablet. It appears that Samsung has had a change of heart and decided to launch the tablet under the different name.

It looks like that tablet is currently referred to as the Samsung Galaxy Tab A2 S, which is a bit more confusing than the previous name. The model number (SM-T380 / SM-T385) remains the same, and …

Bixby to make its tablet debut on the entry-level Galaxy Tab A (2017)

While most people’s eyes have been firmly stuck to the newly unveiled Galaxy Note 8, Samsung has quietly been preparing the launch of a number of other products in the near future: there’s at least two new wearables on the horizon, along with a budget tablet which will be the successor to last year’s Galaxy Tab A 8.0.

And while we’ve already seen the latter in photos from Chinese regulatory agency TENAA, today Samsung has (probably by accident) publicly released its user manual. And while one wouldn’t normally expect much surprises from an entry-level …

Rosenblatt: 40 million iPhone 8 units to ship in the second half of 2017; model's 3D sensor leaks

Rosenblatt analyst Jun Zhang apparently has a large number of fingers and toes. Zhang expects 35 million to 40 million units of the Apple iPhone 8 to ship in the second half of this year. That would include less than three full months of availability for the iPhone 8. The analyst says that a low yield rate will prevent Apple from including a fingerprint scanner on the iPhone 8. Instead, Apple will use a facial recognition system that unlocks the phone and verifies identity in “millionths of a second.”

Breaking down the shipping data, Zhang calls for 5 million iPhone 8 units to ship in the …

Samsung might be testing a powerful new dual-camera successor to Galaxy A5 (2017)

Samsung could be preparing to launch a beastly mid-ranger in the coming months. A new listing for a “Samsung SM-A5300″ model has recently appeared on popular smartphone benchmarking service Geekbench. Judging by the name, it is possible that this handset is a successor to the current Galaxy A5 (2017) which carries the model number SM-A5200.

The tested device runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat and is powered by the Snapdragon 660, the most potent 600-tier Qualcomm platform to date. Some of the most notable capabilities of the …

Once again, rumors call for 2017 iPhone users to shell out cash for wireless charging accessories

Rumors that the tenth anniversary iPhone, currently known as the Apple iPhone 8, will feature wireless charging have been around for some time. Actually, all three rumored 2017 iPhone models could be the first iOS powered handsets to offer this feature. So-called Apple expert John Gruber sent out a tweet last July indicating that the charging pads for the Apple iPhone 8, Apple iPhone 7s and Apple iPhone 7s Plus will be sold separately.

The CEO of contract assembler Wriston, Robert Hwang, said earlier this year that wireless charging on the iPhone requires the new models to undergo …

Alcatel A3 Plus, A7 XL and U5 HD leak ahead of IFA 2017 reveal

At least three new Android smartphones will be introduced by Alcatel at IFA 2017. The unannounced devices have been leaked over the weekend and are likely to make their debut on the market this fall.

The Alcatel A3 Plus comes in two variations (3G and 4G) and sports a 5.5-inch display with HD (720p) resolution. Even though this is a cheap device, it will feature a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor on the 3G model, but the 4G version will have the fingerprint scanner on the front side.

Next in line, the Alcatel A7 XL is a huge smartphone …
