Luxury watch maker Movado has introduced its first Android Wear 2.0 timepiece, the Movado Connect. With a crystal display that is nearly edge-to-edge, the dial used on the above promotional render shows an uncluttered screen with the iconic single dot replacing the number 12. But that is only one of the 100 watch faces that the Connect will launch with. Each face includes the single dot design and offers “brilliant new color, dimension, complication, details and day to night transformation.” The device does feature an “always-on screen,” and its support of NFC means that Android Pay is enabled …

Montblanc Summit is a new Android Wear 2.0 smartwatch that looks like it could last decades

It looks like Android Wear 2.0 has awakened smartwatch makers from their year-long slumber, for yet another high-profile brand – German prime export Montblanc – has chipped in with its member contribution for Google’s smartwatch club. The Summit, as it’s called, isn’t super gorgeous, but evokes the sturdiness of old-time German gear – the kind that has Bosch, Siemens, Telefunken, or Porsche written on it, and lasts forever.

The Summit is contained within a 46mm steel or titanium case 12.5mm in depth. An 1.39-inch circular AMOLED display (400 x 400 resolution) provides the visuals, …

Just yesterday, Chinese phone maker Meizu, known for its good-looking affordable phones, surprised everyone by announcing an impressive new ‘Super mCharge’ fast charging technology. By using an upgraded data cable and clever circuitry, Meizu said that this new technology makes it possible to fully charge a phone’s battery in just 20 minutes. We were impressed, but doubtful: after all, Meizu did not say when is it planning on bringing this new tech to actual devices and without a release date, it all seemed like one of many rosy and not completely realistic promises …
