Eliza Dushku says she was 'sexually molested' at age 12 while working on 'True Lies'

“When I was 12 years old, while filming True Lies, I was sexually molested by Joel Kramer, one of Hollywood’s leading stunt coordinators.”

So begins Eliza Dushku’s heart-wrenching #MeToo Facebook post, which she shared early on Saturday morning. The post goes on to relate, in great detail, the way Kramer allegedly first groomed her and then lured her to his Miami hotel near the set of the 1994 film.

It’s a graphic and frankly disturbing read, made all the moreso by our knowledge of just how young Dushku was at the time. But, like much of what’s come out of Hollywood (and plenty of other industries) in this moment of reckoning for sexual predators, it’s an important document. Read more…

BlackBerry Motion launches in the US on January 12

BlackBerry Mobile and TCL
today announced the upcoming US availability of BlackBerry Motion – the very first dust- and water-resistant
BlackBerry-branded smartphone. 

 

Previously available only in select markets (including up north in Canada), the BlackBerry Motion will be released
in the US
on January 12 – this Friday. The handset will be sold unlocked via Amazon and
Best Buy for $449.99. This is a GSM/LTE variant of the Motion, which
means you’ll be able to use it on AT&T and T-Mobile, but not on Verizon,
Sprint, and US Cellular.

1.2 billion iPhone handsets have been sold since the device launched in 2007

During his conference call yesterday, made in the aftermath of Apple’s third fiscal quarter earnings announcement, CEO Tim Cook revealed that Apple has sold 1.2 billion iPhone handsets since the iconic device first launched in June 2007. Last year at this time, Apple announced that it had sold 1 billion units of its smart handset since 2007. That means that over the last year, 200 million iPhone models have found a home.

BLU R1 HD update brings T-Mobile VoLTE and Band 12 support for non-Prime customers

BLU released a maintenance update for the R1 HD back in November, which would enable support for T-Mobile VoLTE and Band 12. However, the update was only available to Amazon Prime exclusive version of the smartphone.

Today, more than seven months after the initial release, BLU allows customers who purchased the standard R1 HD model to download and install the update.
