Deal: HTC 10 costs just $240 at Sprint, no need to be a Sprint customer

Despite the fact that HTC recently introduced its new flagship smartphone, the HTC 10 is still popular among Android fans. To make it even more appealing, Sprint has dropped the last year flagship’s price tag to just $240 outright.

Moreover, Sprint customers who want to take advantage of the deal can grab the HTC 10 for free on $10 monthly payments for 24 months. The current promo is available to Sprint customers online and over the phone, but not at brick and mortar stores.

However, if you’re not a Sprint customer, you can still buy the HTC 10 for $240 directly …

Asus introduces the ZenPad 3S 8.0 tablet, a smaller but slightly better version of the ZenPad 3S 10

Asus tablets usually come in pairs, but the ZenPad 3S 10 revealed back in February at Mobile World Congress came alone. Well, the large tablet won’t remain unpaired for too long, as Asus quietly introduced the smaller version of the 10-inch slate, the ZenPad 3S 8.0.

As the name suggests, the new ZenPad 3S 8.0 is smaller than the ZenPad 3S 10, but some specs are slightly better. For example, the slate is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, as opposed to the Snapdragon 650 CPU inside the ZenPad 3S 10.

The ZenPad 3S 8.0 packs 4GB RAM and either …

30+ beautiful high-res wallpapers, perfect for your Galaxy S8/S8+, Pixel XL, LG G6, HTC 10, and others

High-resolution, and high-quality wallpapers are not the easiest thing to find, especially if you have as many as 1440 x 2560 pixels to fill with information – as would be the case if your smartphone has a QHD display.

The reasons for that are several. Perhaps most importantly, however, it’s just exceedingly easy for wallpaper repositories to simply upscale lower resolution content to make it appear as if it would fit perfectly on your fancy screen, but the reality is that stretching the image takes a ton from the quality. And that’s not what you want if you’re looking to …

Render of Verizon Ellipsis 10 HD tablet surfaces

Verizon subscribers might be aware that the nation’s largest carrier offers its own Verizon branded line of Android powered tablets. Called the Verizon Ellipsis, the first model was launched in 2013 with a 7-inch display. Since then, Big Red has added 8-inch and 10-inch versions of the slates. Last November, it hiked the resolution on the 8-incher from 800 x 1280 to 1200 x 1920, and upgraded the chipset to the Snapdragon 617. It also changed the name to the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD while jettisoning the older model from its lineup.

Now, it appears that Verizon plans on doing something similar …

HTC U11 vs HTC 10: The new features

Back in January, HTC announced a duo of smartphones, the HTC U Ultra and U Play, which, although fresh-looking and unique in their own respective ways, failed to generate a lot of excitement. Part of the reason why the pair didn’t enjoy a lot of limelight was the fact that it came out packing Snapdragon’s last year flagship CPU, when people were getting excited for the brand new, more powerful, and more battery-friendly Snapdragon 835.

HTC promised that, when the new top-of-the-line CPU is available, it would come out with a smartphone to match. The Taiwanese …

LG's latest earnings report shows 10 percent overall yearly growth, 2 percent in its mobile division

LG Electronics posted its Q1 2017 earnings report today, and things are looking pretty great for the company on pretty much all fronts. Its operating profits are up 9.7 percent over the same period last year, though its mobile division saw only 2 percent year-over-year growth.

The increase in smartphone revenue, which for Q1 2017 was 3.01 trillion won (USD 2.61 billion), was helped by the launch of its latest flagship, the LG G6, though its March 10 release date left it little time to leave a considerable mark on the company’s profits. However, unit …

Windows 10 Mobile Creators Update now rolling out to regular (non-insider) users

One day later than expected, Microsoft has started sending out the Windows 10 Mobile Creators Update worldwide to regular Windows 10 Mobile users. Yesterday, Microsoft decided to release the update to those registered as insiders. As we previously told you, only 13 units are receiving the update. But these 13 do account for 60% of Windows 10 Mobile users across the globe, according to AdDuplex. The latter is a cross-promotion network for Windows Phone and the Windows Store. For the 40% not receiving the Creators Update, their phones’ updating days are over.

Thanks to a change in the updating …
