Samsung and Japanese telecom company KDDI announced this morning that last month they were able to demonstrate the use of 5G technology on a moving train. During the testing, successful handovers of downlink and uplink transmissions were achieved while the train was moving at a speed of 100 km/hour (equivalent to 62.1 mph). While this was going on, Samsung and KDDI were able to post a peak data speed of 1.7Gbps.
